It's used in some actual movies as background because of its popularity.
The Twilight Saga: New Moon - When Edward is talking on the mobile phone, indicating that he was staying in Brazil after leaving Bella.
In the movie 2012 the statue is crumbling during a massive earthquake.
Humm ... I must admit I didn't know this was counted one of the world's 7 wonders. We learn something new everyday, it seems. ;-)
